FAQ Privacy Films

How do privacy-blocking films differ from sun-blocking films?

Privacy films and solar control films differ in their main functionality and purpose. Privacy films are primarily focussed on reducing the view from outside and thus protecting the user's privacy. They allow light to enter the room while at the same time keeping out unwanted views.

Solar control films, on the other hand, are designed to reject heat and UV rays from the sun's rays. Their main aim is to protect interiors from excessive heat, which can reduce energy costs as less cooling is required. They also help prevent furniture and floors from fading by filtering harmful UV rays.

In some cases, however, privacy films and solar control films offer overlapping functionalities. Some films combine both privacy and solar control properties, so they are able to provide privacy while reducing solar radiation. When selecting a film, it is important to consider the specific requirements and desired properties in order to find the right solution for the respective area of application.
