FAQ Privacy Films

How are privacy films installed correctly?

To install the privacy film, you will need glass cleaner, the film itself, a spray bottle with distilled water, installation concentrate, a glass scraper, lint-free cloths, a squeegee with a rubber lip, a sharp knife or cutter, possibly adhesive tape, an edge ruler and a rubber squeegee or squeegee.

It is important to wear lint-free clothing and to clean the glass surface thoroughly. Ensure that the installation is carried out at temperatures between 6 °C and 28 °C. Prepare a mixture of distilled water and mounting concentrate in the spray bottle as the mounting fluid.

Cut the film so that it extends at least 2 cm beyond the glass. Spray the mounting fluid onto the glass surface and the adhesive side of the film. Then place the adhesive side of the film on the damp glass and squeegee it outwards from the centre to remove any air bubbles. Then carefully cut off the protruding edges using a cutter and a straight edge.

Finally, moisten the outside of the film again and squeegee out the remaining mounting fluid. Wipe the edges with an absorbent cloth. The film takes around 28 to 35 days to dry, during which time it should not be cleaned. After drying, it is advisable to clean the film with a mild glass cleaner. If you follow these steps, you can successfully install the privacy film and enjoy it for many years to come.
